Before you go out and drop a few hundred bucks on your latest camera that may or may not be part of a phone, you should think about making your own camera on the cheap. It sounds harder than it is. Infrared? Does that mean all your images will look like a screen shot from a Paris Hilton sex tape? Well, not really. But they will look quite surreal, not unlike night vision. Infrared images often look like some kind of winter wonder world, making the leaves in the trees appear white while a blue sky will seem to be almost solid black. Gavin, our camera instructor, will show you the first phase of taking infrared photos without having to mod your camera or revert to buying an ancient roll of infrared film off eBay that may or may not even function.
